2025 18th CHCW CUP Showcases Sportsmanship and Unity
A Celebration of Athletic Spirit and Inter-University Friendship

The 18th Cheng-Hsing Cheng-Wan (CHCW) Cup, a major annual sports event of the Taiwan Comprehensive University System, was hosted by National Cheng Kung University(NCKU) on May 24–25, 2025. Over 1,200 faculty members and students from National Cheng Kung University, National Chung Hsing University(NCHU), National Chung Cheng University(CCU), and National Sun Yat-sen University(NSYSU) gathered for two days of lively competition across 19 events.
First launched in 2006 by NCKU and NSYSU as the “Cheng-Wan Cup,” the tournament later expanded to include NCHU and CCU, and became the CHCW Cup. Now in its 18th year, the event continues to promote teamwork and friendship among the four universities.
Highlighting the spirit of exchange among the four universities
To strengthen inter-university interaction, this year’s CHCW Cup added new events like billiards and friendly rugby, bringing extra fun to the games. Despite the competitive nature of the games, all teams showed great skill and teamwork. NCKU’s team stood out for its unity, respect, and perseverance, earning it the Overall Spirit Award for its sportsmanship and positive attitude.
At the closing ceremony, NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen passed the CHCW Cup flag to next year’s host, National Chung Cheng University. He reminded everyone that wins and losses fade, but the friendship and shared spirit among the four universities will endure. “See you next year at CCU!”
